Speeding Up Your Computer Is Not A One Click Process
Posted by: Mark
Many will say speeding up your computer is a one click process and all you need to do is use a simple piece of software that does this all for you. I’m here to say differently because this is not true.
The truth is that if you want to speed up your computer you need a complete solution. So the best way to it is to learn what it really takes and try your best to avoid falling for a one click solution.
There are many ways of doing this too but particularly the best way is to carry out all the steps required. This means knowing exactly what to do and also even knowing when to do it. It is quite complicated but a basic overlook shows that it’s not overly difficult either.
Remove All Infections
The first step is to remove all infections from your computer using virus and spyware removal software. Some of the best are Malware Bytes Anti-Malware and Avira Anti-Virus. Once these are removed you will already have eliminated a lot of the causes of a slow computer.
Use Window’s Important Tools
The second step would be to carry out some routine maintenance using Window’s available tools. Two of the most important are to check your hard disk for errors using Windows disk error checker. Then to defragment your hard disk using Windows disk defragmenter.
Update Your System
You will need to ensure all your programs are up to date and especially Window’s. Effectively updating as soon as updates become available is highly important but not always possible. Never forget to update your system.
Clean Your Registry
Other further steps include using a safe and respected registry cleaner to remove any erroneous files within your computer. Highly recommended for this process is CCleaner.
Remove Unnecessary Programs
You will have many programs on your computer that you most likely don't need anymore. Removing these from your system will free up space and is a great way to help keep your computers health optimum.
Stop Unnecessary Programs Loading On Start-Up
Many programs are set to load when Windows loads but most of them do not need to load at this time. You can use msconfig to tweak the start-up settings and stop them or some software has this option built into them such as CCleaner.
Add A Firewall
Adding a firewall to your system is one of the most important steps to making sure your computer is safe. The firewall is there to ensure infections and attacks find it hard getting into your computer.
These steps cover speeding up your computer effectively and are much like routine computer maintenance where you would ensure these steps are covered regularly. It will also keep you away from the dreaded one click solutions that only cause more problems than they do good.
